Nordex: A Brilliant Comeback in the Wind Energy Sector
Nordex has made a significant comeback in the wind energy sector with a well-filled order book, which is of great interest to private investors and savers. The company has recently secured several major contracts that strongly improve its order situation and signal a positive development for the coming years.
Important Details about the Contracts:
- From Germany, Nordex received an order from Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen (UKA) for wind turbines with a total capacity of 435 megawatts.
- An even larger order comes from Turkey with a total of 900 megawatts.
- Additional turbines with a capacity of 147 megawatts are to be delivered to Latvia, including maintenance for 15 years.
- Furthermore, a reorder from SAB WindTeam for 13 units of the N163 type (91 megawatts) has been placed, along with a premium service contract for 20 years. Delivery and installation are scheduled for early 2027.
These strong order inflows have raised the order volume to approximately 5 billion euros. For the year 2025, Nordex projects revenue between 7.4 and 7.9 billion euros with an EBITDA margin of five to seven percent. Already in the first quarter, the margin stood at a solid 5.5 percent. CEO José Luis Blanco expressed optimism that both annual targets and medium-term plans can be achieved or even exceeded.
The financial situation is also improving: While early 2024 saw a cash outflow, a turnaround to positive free cash flow has since occurred. This is an important step toward the company’s financial stability.
After difficult years between 2019 and 2022 – marked by significant losses and capital increases – Nordex has been in a consistent turnaround process for about two years. The current development makes the company attractive again for investors as a growth stock in the wind energy sector.
For private investors, this means:
- A solid foundation through large long-term contracts
- Positive revenue and margin prospects
- Improved financial stability
- Potential for stock price increases given the recovery in business
Overall, Nordex is well positioned on the way from being a restructuring case to a growth-oriented player in the global wind energy industry.
