Significant Profit Decline in the Second Quarter of 2025
The medical and safety technology manufacturer Drägerwerk recorded a significant profit decline in the second quarter of 2025. The earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) fell by about half to 20 million euros. Revenue also slightly decreased by 0.6 percent to 780 million euros, which was partly affected by the strong euro.
Positive Development in Order Intake
Despite this profit decline, the company remains optimistic about the future, as order intake increased by 10.5 percent year-on-year to around 877 million euros. This positive trend in order intake leads Drägerwerk to believe in a revitalization of the business, and management has therefore confirmed the annual forecast.
For investors, this outlook could be of interest as rising order intake is often seen as an indicator of future growth and can positively affect the share price. Following the announcement of the figures, the share price reacted with a slight decline of about 0.2 percent on the Tradegate exchange compared to the Xetra closing price.
Drägerwerk plans to publish more detailed figures for the second quarter on July 29. Overall, the company signals a recovery despite short-term challenges due to the recovery in orders.
