Intel’s Significant Revenue Increase and Strengthening in the Semiconductor Market

Intel’s Impressive Growth Figures at a Glance

Intel reports significant revenue increases and markedly improves its market position in the semiconductor sector. In the first quarter of 2025, revenue rose to $90.23 billion, marking a 12 percent increase compared to the previous year. Profit even increased by 46 percent, underscoring the strong operational performance.

The Role of the Foundry Business

A key driver of this positive trend is Intel’s foundry business, which has been strongly expanded since the strategic realignment IDM 2.0 began in 2021. Intel was able to increase its market share in this area from 5.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024 to 6.5 percent in the first quarter—a significant step towards competitiveness against industry giants like TSMC and Samsung.

Advantages Due to Competitive Issues

Additionally, Intel benefits from problems faced by competitors: Samsung has postponed the development of its advanced manufacturing technology (1.4 nanometers) and is instead focusing on improvements in the slightly older technology (2 nanometers). This delay gives Intel additional room for growth in contract manufacturing.

These developments indicate that Intel is not only strengthening its own position but is also benefiting overall from the strong market environment for semiconductor products. The positive momentum could have a widespread impact across the industry and provide new opportunities for investors.
